for Estufa Plataforma Cultural
For the 10th Dance Laboratory (LAB10) in 2021, the guest choreographer was Bruno Duarte who worked in an artistic residency format open to all citizens who wanted to work with him on the co-creation of the show “BLOMMA”.
BLOMMA unfolds themes of love, loss, and rebirth intertwined with the rituals of the midsummer celebration. Intricate patterns of movement are woven, evoking the cyclical rhythms of the natural world and the eternal dance of life and death.
Against a backdrop of haunting melodies and the hypnotic beat of drums, the darker undercurrents lurking beneath the surface of the idyllic festivities are explored. Shadows dance amidst the flickering flames of bonfires, hinting at the primal instincts and ancient mysteries that lie hidden within the human psyche.
