The Greyhound. A hunting dog that Dante refers to repeatedly in his work (Convivio, Sonar Bracchetti, Tre donne intorno al cor and finally Inferno).
Allegorical personification of a hero destined to free humankind.
Dante, perhaps deliberately, left this figure without any type of identifying clue, so knowledgeable voices are divided in their interpretation: Jesus Christ, Grande della Scala, Emperor Henry VII, Uguccio ne Faggiola, Benedict XII or the Holy Spirit himself.
Uncertainty is an intrinsic state of the human condition. Curiosity leads the individual to the need to question, communicate, investigate, evolve, create.
Religion, philosophy and modern science face this search for Truth with different means and results but asking, essentially, the same questions – “what was the beginning?”, “what gave rise to the universe?”.
In practice, humanity continues to delve into different questions that often revolve around the question – “Does God exist?”.
L'Veltro is a contemporary dance show that arises from the desire of two young creators to cross their artistic universes exploring these themes, taking as its starting point an essential work of universal literature – Inferno, the first book of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy .
