Bruno Duarte holds a Master's Degree in Dance Teaching and a Bachelor's Degree in Dance from Escola Superior de Dança.
He was a dancer and performer with the Grupo Experimental de Dança (2011/12) and Quorum Ballet (2013). Since 2013, has been part of Almada Dance Company as a dancer, having performed in more than 30 of the company’s pieces, as well as a teacher and as the resident choreographer.
He was a co-producer and performer in the screendances "P48" (2012), presented at the 20th Almada Dance Fortnight, and ".5" (2013), presented at festivals such as Caldas Late Night (Portugal), L'art difficile de filmer la danse (Belgium), and InShadow (Portugal), where it won the Audience Choice Award for Best Dance Video.
As a choreograper, he has presented works such as "Metamorfose" (2011/2) at Culturgest in partnership with ESD, "someone else ago" (2013) for the BOXNOVA program at the Centro Cultural de Belém, "L’Veltro" (2016) in co-creation with Elson Marlon Ferreira, "Blömma" (2021) for Estufa, “En Garde” (2022) for Motus Dance Project, “Bite the bullet” (2023) for the Portuguese National Dance Conservatory and “Verbo: mentir” in co-creation with Luís Malaquias for TMO and Arabesque.
For Almada Dance Company he created "Riot" (2014), "Gaveston" (2016), "Fobos" (2017), "A Invenção da Resposta" (2018) in co-creation with Luís Malaquias, "SubRosa" (2018), "Inverno" (2019), "Noir" and "A Quiet Moment" (2020), and "Carbono" (2023). Within this company, he is also the author of the Itinerant Choreographic Laboratory project, for which he created "Dentro do Abraço" (2016) and "SCENA" (2022).
As a choreographer and dance teacher, he participated in European projects like CLASH! (2019/21) and Up2DANCE (2020/21).
He has conducted workshops at venues such as the Beijing Dance Theatre (China), Giro8 Dance Company (Brazil), FreeDance (Croatia), SoloCoreográfico, and ArtGarage (Italy), among others.
He has been a guest teacher in Escola Superior de Dança (2016 and 2019), the Dance School of the National Conservatory (2023), and, since 2021, at Oficinas Teatro Lisboa. He teaches at Ca.DA Escola and is a guest choreographer at the Quorum Project.
He was awarded the Almada Artes - Young Talent Award, promoted by the Almada City Council.
