STaking as its main inspiration the cinematographic work of Xavier Dolan – the films “J'ai Tué Ma Mére” and “Les Amours Imaginaires”, “someone else ago” dissects the idea of personal calculus and personality construction that nowadays characterizes many young people who consider themselves culturally evolved, socially superior and intellectually eclectic.
This piece addresses several general themes that go deeper as we discuss them. The obvious and intrinsic mistakes in interpersonal perception relationships, the hipster and constructed personality, the kitsch aesthetics and, invariably, the process of personal censorship that we all deal with in our daily lives, in which we regret our actions, punish ourselves for something that we said or did and didn't think was appropriate for the situation, or even because we revealed something more about ourselves that we didn't expect a third person to come to know.
